At Double Diamond Veterinary Services, LLC, we offer a variety of services to care for your equine athlete. If you have any questions or would like more information on how we can care for your horse, please contact us today.
Dentistry
We are proud to offer equine dentistry and provide care for your horse’s entire oral cavity. A horse’s teeth and jaw function are vital to their overall well-being and performance, so dental care is an important part of your horse’s health. We offer powerfloating which reduces procedural time and reduces trauma to the horse’s mouth compared to hand floating and your horse will be sedated for their comfort.
Farm Calls
We understand that treating horses takes special care, and that is why we offer farms calls to your barn during business hours. There is a farm call fee for us to come to your barn. Please give us a call if you would like to schedule a farm call.
Diagnostic Imaging
Double Diamond is equipped with the latest in diagnostic imaging – including digital radiography. Digital radiology is the best way to get quality x-rays quickly and efficiently. Your horse’s digital images are ready instantly for us to view. Also, instead of taking film after film to adjust the settings, we can simply adjust the contrast on the computer. This means that we can take fewer films and not expose your horse to as much radiation. Digital x-rays are great for diagnosing lameness and arthritis in horses. We also offer diagnostic ultrasound for reproductive ultrasound exams. Dr. Brennan can detect pregnancy at 14 days post breeding.
Surgery
Dr. Brennan offers a wide variety of surgical procedures to our Equine patients which include castrations, laceration repairs, eye enucleations, hernia repairs – just to name a few. We are constantly learning about new surgical techniques so that we can perform procedures as easily as possible.
Dr. Brennan loves pictures so be sure to check out our before and after pics!
Dr. Brennan also offers intra-articular joint injections for the equine athlete.
Emergency Care
We know that emergencies happen and usually at the worst time. Don’t worry! We are here for you no matter what time it is.
We are here for you during our regular business hours. It is our goal to get your horse feeling better as quickly as possible, and we will do everything we can to help.
Lameness Exams
If your horse is lame for any reason, our team is dedicated to finding out the reason and helping your horse get back to performing. With a lameness examination, we first study the legs for swelling, abnormal hoof wear, or anything else out of the ordinary. We palpate all of the joints, tendons, and ligaments to try to feel for anything abnormal that may be making your horse lame. After the examination, we will watch your horse walk and jog (if possible) and most likely do flexion tests, diagnostic blocks +/- radiographs.
